Studio Rules & Regulations…
I spoke with a studio today that has a large town that with several buildings that would work perfectly for Rome 444. Unfortunately, they do not rent one building by itself. They only rent to big productions with large budgets who book the entire town. Too bad there aren’t a lot of choices when it comes to studios for lower-budget features. If you’re looking for a hospital, courtroom etc, you can usually find one for under $1,000 a day but no Roman sets. If we use a dark setting where the background falls off, that will work just fine. The prison scene happens in the middle of the night, and the other scene happens at dawn. I can rent a small stage or room and use Duvetyne to black out the background if need be. All the focus is going to be centered on the actors anyway. It is a very high drama scene! I am so looking forward to shooting it!
