Render Time…

Since most of the shots on The Sphere are special effects shots, every frame has to be created and that takes an incredible amount of time–sometimes upwards of 17 hours! You have to really love effects to want to do them. It takes an amazing amount of patience.

I find writing can be the same way. It’s always a good idea to give yourself a day or more before you review your material. Once you read the script again, there’s a good chance you’re going to want to fiddle with it. Sometimes this is a good thing, other times, not so much, which is why I always save copies of my work. Private Eye for example in on version 11. Rome 444 made it to version 15, The One is on V9, and Lone Viking is on V10. Essentially this means, I’ve edited this script that many times or changed a key point that I may want to change back at some point if I were to change my mind.

This is a writer’s world. I have so many characters that talk to me, and I have to feed them through reading. When you’re reading, you’re not writing, but you have to do it. Currently, I am reading One of the Boys by Paul Jackson about the military’s view of sexuality in WW2.  It delves into the many prejudices that were built into the regulations of the military system which held back progress for so long for the LGBT community.

The only thing I love more than writing is shooting, and I will shoot anything just ask my husband. I can never get the camera out of his face or the faces of my twins. He can’t stand to be in front of the camera, but my twins love it. Now with our new camera, I am itching to be behind it. Storage is an issue at the moment. One we’re planning to solve soon as we have Watching coming up shortly, our next short on the list.
