Pieces in Bloom Original Version…
The original version of Pieces in Bloom is the one I want to go with. This is the feature as five stories back to back in the same city with Opal as the thread throughout. I feel like they have more power when they are told as they were originally written. Chelsea and Davenport’s story is romantic and spun with misunderstandings. They are so good together, and I love that story. I can’t wait to cast those characters. Colt and Danny are best buddies who experience something no one should ever have to go through with their best friend. It’s devastating and brings them closer together as they hunt for revenge. The love that blossoms between them was always there but needed something to bring it to the surface and is so beautiful. Saul and Annie’s story is the one that always makes me cry…and not a gentle cry, but the “I can hardly breath” cry. They’re soul-mates who have been together for generations. The high level of love, loyalty and devotion grips your heart and doesn’t let it go. Phoebe and Max is now Richie and Max. It just never felt right for Phoebe to be a woman. The character of the “Lingerie Queen of L.A.” seemed to come alive as a very flamboyant gay man who is stunningly beautiful and surrounded by gorgeous women who he affectionately calls “his girls”. I love this story now more than ever! Opal’s story is still being rewritten. We flash back to her and her twin brother Max (Richie’s Max) as they are children and start there. Then we move forward to tell Opal’s story with Dane (a famous singer), Sebastian (an Olympic Skater) and Jewel (a Gorgeous fashion model). Things get rather crazy, and the story is going to be a fun one to complete.
We’ve also developed the final look for the special effects in Playground. It has a lightening appearance, and in motion, the effect looks incredible. I am very happy with the way it’s turned out. When it moves in real time, the energy blast looks like it’s zapping through the villain and works very well for the scene. Here is a still to give you an idea.
