We have over 700 actors submitting for roles in Bridgeport at this time. I’ve been looking at several profiles and watching reels, putting my favorites aside as I filter through the prospects. When I held the auditions for Rome 444, I had some wonderfully talented actors come through but only a few roles to cast. As an actress myself, I know how difficult it is not to get cast, especially when you know you gave a great performance and really like the role. Casting projects as a producer, I realize there is so much more on the table than just the talent the actor brings into the room. It’s a big comfort for me at auditions now. If I don’t get the part, I’m not phased in the least. All I care is that I gave a wonderful performance. I always keep my head shots on file for later projects, and I may be contacting some actors from my Rome audition. Even in this online audition, I am setting aside actors that may not fit these specific roles but could be perfect for later projects I develop.
