Today I have a lunch meeting with an Executive Producer who has several connections in the industry. He typically finds the funding for projects and product placement. It’s going to be a good learning experience to talk to him about the future of my company, and the realistic goals we can set for our many projects. The only way to grow is to have financial backing. Though we can go through Kickstarter for some funds, the real money that will help your project soar comes from institutions with deeper pockets. There are several ways we could go. I prefer doing features with Netflix, Redbox, Cable and Amazon as the expected platform for world wide distribution. However, we could also go the route of a weekly web series sponsored by a company. I have done something similar in the past with a producer for Chivas Regal. The web spots were fun and flirty, and though it was sponsored by the company, it wasn’t just a commercial but actual content. I have so many ideas that are ready to go. I am hoping today will get me that much closer to running with them.
