Material Girl…
I went to a Fabric store today to buy some fabric to embellish the costumes I chose for Rome 444. I will be sewing on the fabric tonight, and I found some GORGEOUS gold ric rac braid ribbon for Queen Camilla’s costume. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the perfect adornment, fit for a Queen. It has a brilliant golden shine!
My feature takes place over a century after the last King was dethroned from Rome. However, the royalty of the time did not give up their titles easily, as is the case with King Titus and his wife Camilla. When Nero steals Camilla from her home as revenge for the pain and misery Titus brought down on Nero’s family, Camilla is surprised to find herself drawn to Nero and his generous spirit. In the scene we’re shooting, Nero acts more like of a bear than the great man he truly is because he is judging her based on preconceived notions that have nothing to do with the reality of the situation. Camilla gives as good as she gets and believes he is the most despicable human being she has ever met…but she can’t help her attraction to him. We rehearse tomorrow and I meet with the sound crew afterwards. Next week, we shoot.
