When I was a kid, we only had Spring Break, never a Fall Break. Now they have both. My twin boys are on their fall break this week so we have oodles of time to do stuff together. The first thing they wanted to do was a horror film with lots of fake blood. We already shot one a month ago, and I really didn’t enjoy sorting through footage of the boys covered in fake blood. So we decided to come up with something new, a found footage alien movie. I am mostly behind the camera as the twins are captured. Outside an alien invasion is happening in the skies. Most of this will be covered in post through sound work and a few effects shots that Brad will create. It’s a really fun project for the boys this week as they practice their acting skills.

Mason hears the first jet scream through the sky followed by a series of explosions.

He looks outside to see a massive space ship.

Mason is scared.

Mason is worried about Daddy who we can no longer reach.

Gabriel covering his ears because there are too many sirens.

There’s lots of footage of the boys laughing and playing too. They can’t be serious all the time. It’s been fun to play with the boys and invent new stories. Having them improv and invent story lines as well is pretty amazing because they are extremely creative…and so very cute!
