Finishing…

I’m always juggling several projects at once, which means that it takes a while to get things finished, but they all seem to finish around the same time. We are on the third pass on the special effects for Playground, which will be popped in the timeline tonight. These are Hollywood level effects, and it makes the film look incredible!

Three of my features were just entered in Scriptapalooza. I revised “Tested” (aka Greg) with Ashley replacing Greg and changed the ending somewhat. It was literally down to the wire, racing the clock to get the script into the festival in time. I’ve never written and edited so furiously in my life. My romantic comedy “Amanda” also went in, as well as the latest version of Sandy Beach. I wanted to enter Rome 444, but it needs a rewrite as I haven’t touched it in a year, and I’ve learned a vast amount since then which will definitely change the language. I also have a Sci-Fi feature I wrote sometime last year that I call Timeless. It’s super cool with time travel, lots of action and special effects. It also needs a revision pass to clean it up and mold it into shape.

Now that I’ve completed several writing projects, I’m looking to finish, revise and start new ones. I love writing so much that I think about it first thing in the morning and the last thing before I drift off to sleep…sometimes it just keeps me up to the wee hours off the night. My idea list is at 450 and scrolling through it takes time. I highlight the ones that stand out to me, several of which have to so with LGBT rights, some are mysteries, Sci-Fi and family dramas. I also get inspired at a moment’s notice and just start writing. That happened this morning. I jumped out of bed and started writing before I even had breakfast. I’m on page 25 of a family drama called “Will”, and I already see it as a feature. I’m getting to the point where story structure is second hand based on all my studying, writing so many features/shorts and going with gut instinct. Tested is in Brad’s hands now for revisions, and we’re working out a plan to shoot it sometime this year.
