Feature Budget…
I worked on the budget for our feature Pieces in Bloom today. I figured out two versions. One is if Brad could work full time on Post and one is without that added expense. Either way, it’s going to take funding to pull this off. I’m glad I have the financial details worked out, and I can now alter the script if need be to help save cost as well.
Saul and Annie’s story is very low budget, with few characters and locations…and that’s the one that gets to me the most on an emotional level. I plan to revisit the script this week to try and trim the budget and add more of an emotional impact in the other stories as well.
I love my Danny and Colt story, and my Max and Richie story as well because both of them deal with gay rights and bullying but in very different ways with very different characters. I love Chelsea’s story with Davenport because it focuses on a powerful couple that experiences love at first sight, and it’s deliciously sweet. Saul and Annie’s story is about love that came in a time of war, lifetime loyalty, and the wisdom that comes with old age. It’s poignant and has a lot of heart. Opal’s story delves into her past which is heartbreaking, but her present relationship with Dane is honest and filled with hope.
