An Extra Hour of Writing…

I stayed up late last night working on my trilogy, Warrior’s Blood. One of the rules of writing is to torture your characters. If you put them through hell, the audience is more likely to care for them and their fight for justice. With that rule in mind, I’ve created an antagonist that puts one of our leads through some horrific experiences. All of this will make him wary of trusting people which will ultimately affect him when it comes to moving forward in the story. It will be part of the crux he must overcome to progress, grow and succeed. It’s not going to be an easy battle to win because of the brutality of his past.

The other lead hasn’t had an easy life either. They both have women who end up playing a large role in the trilogy. One fights alongside the men, and the other unknowingly starts a war. Through their experiences, the men form a brotherly bond that is stronger than blood.
