A Multitude of Actors in L.A. …

One thing I’ve realized while looking through the hundreds of actors who applied for Guilty, is that there are several people in L.A. that looks alike. All my choices for the leading lady are around the same height, complexion and body type. They’re all beautiful and look as if they could be sisters. The ones that included a reel are very talented, and these are just the ones who applied this time around. It makes you realize why so many people leave the world of acting because there is so much competition from others that look similar to you, and you have no power unless you are a “name.”

When casting the men, I’ve also noticed a trend in looks department. First off, many of the men that applied this time around look like men I’ve already cast in my other projects. I’ve also got a young man who applied for Vincent who looks so much like one of the boys who applied for Charlie, even though they have no relation whatsoever. It works for my purposes since this story is about a family, and I need them to all look alike.

As of now, I have ten shorts that I could shoot. The five from Pieces in Bloom which would make a feature all together, and 5 more I’ve written since Christmas. As I write my features, I take breaks to write a short. I may choose to go with Guilty or go in another direction altogether. The one I wrote last night is something I would enjoy directing even more. The story has a lot of heart, and those are the best type of stories.
