A Blur of Words…

Whenever I spend my day writing, I notice that it passes in a blur of words. Even though a lot gets done, it never feels like it’s enough, partially because I enjoy it so much. I never want to stop down and switch to doing anything else, even when I need to.

I have Sandy Beach back in my hands after having the creator of the website and competition “A Screenwriter’s Utopia” take a thorough look at it and give me notes. There was lots of good new, but there is still work to be done, especially in Act 3 where all the little details need to get wrapped up. I love this script so I’m enjoying being back on it, I just feel antsy to get it done because I want to move forward. I know my patience and meticulous attention to all the gritty details will be rewarded with a good final picture, so I am hanging in there. Sandy Beach will not be the final title…I am considering “Terminal Condition”, “Lethal Syndrome”, “Marked in Silence”, among others.

At the same time that I enjoy writing, I really miss being in production. It’s my favorite place to be especially when I’m directing.  So I am kicking around a few ideas for filming a pitch reel on one of my pilots, a scene from Sandy Beach, or another short.

As for Justine & Barry, it’s looking really good. The deadline to get a locked cut is this Friday, and then it is off to the Protools audio mixer.

We’re also rebooting our website with a designer.  I am really looking forward to having it done with a clean, sophisticated, simple design. I’ll let you all know once the new site is launched!
