A Laugh Out Loud Feature…
Last night, I reread my Viking feature as a PDF, so I was less likely to tinker with it. There were so many times I laughed out loud at the situational comedy. The story consists of several misunderstandings that culminate into a very hilarious adventure.
Mandy Stone receives a magical gift that changes her life forever when she makes a wish that the hero in her Viking novel comes to life. Her roommate Plato is instantly jealous of the leather bound Viking who believes he is stuck in a testing ground on his way to Valhalla. The curious Viking escapes to the streets of West Hollywood where hilarity ensues for the confused warrior. Plato and Mandy join forces to track him down, so they can return him to his story.
The ending reveals an unexpected twist that sets us up for a sequel. It has to be the funniest thing I’ve ever written in my life. Lone Viking started as a 30 page short that I wrote in one night. It was a night where I was exhausted and should have been sleeping but couldn’t because this idea kept tickling my funny bone. I wrote late into the night laughing so much I cried. It was such a funny short, I knew I had to expand it into a feature, and I’m so glad I did! The story is not only hilarious, but it makes you feel good too. It’s a romantic comedy with lots of laughs and a ton of love!
