The Hurt Locker…
From time to time, I stop down my writing to read scripts. I usually stick to Oscar winning scripts. The one I am currently reading is The Hurt Locker by Mark Boal. It’s a great film, directed by Kathryn Bigelow which earned her an Oscar, the first for a female director. The script is fantastic, and since I haven’t seen the film since it was in theaters, I’m looking forward to seeing it again to see how it differs from the way I envision shooting it. I like war movies, and it has me eager to get back to writing my epics. As a writer, there are so many avenues you can go down in your film based on the emotional nature of war. I also love to interweave history into my battle sequences, which can add incredible drama all based on real circumstances.
