All My Features…

This past year I wrote six features, and I revisited two of my features this past weekend. Sandy Beach and Greg. Both of them are really captivating to me and could be shot for rather low budgets considering they are feature films with a lot of action in the psychological thriller genre. Greg was actually written to be shot in my home, so that script could especially be made for a smaller chunk of change. Both of the scripts were written without an outline, and yet both have all the elements that are necessary to make a strong feature. I know this to be true after studying so many screenwriting books this past year. It makes me feel very good about my work, knowing we produced quality scripts off the cuff. I’m sure being film majors and loving the craft has something to do with it. Brad and I wrote Greg together, and it was so much fun working with him on the script. I love writing, but having a writing partner, especially when it is someone you love, makes it really special. I’m not sure if we’ll make Greg because we have moved on to bigger and better things since then, but I’m glad we wrote it because it taught us both so much.
