The Many Roads…

I am flooded with ideas. Taking an idea to the next level takes significant time and effort, and even though many of my ideas would make great films, I am only going to focus on the ones that really speak to me. I wrote one of my first features, Sandy Beach, in four days. I loved the story and the characters so much I just couldn’t put it down. I’ve grown tremendously as a writer since that time.

When inspiration strikes, writing flows like a faucet. It literally takes over your life until you get the story down. The challenge is to take that story to the next level by shooting it. This is my favorite part, and it’s easy to do when you have the skill set as long as you have the budget. I’m very confident that I could take on any obstacle in production and succeed. My post skills are extremely sharp, which gives me a huge advantage as a filmmaker.

One take away I had in my meeting with the Executive was to focus my talents on making an awesome pitch reel and acquiring funds from deeper pockets through the use of that strong pitch. You can also attract talent going this route. Brad and I have both created several pitch reels for networks which have sold shows. We know what to do. It’s all about picking the story we want to tell. With so many roads we could take, herein lies the challenge.
